RIP Challenge Wrap-Up

Oh, it was a glorious Readers Imbibing Peril season!  I'm so sad that it's over.  I didn't get to read as many books as I wanted to but I'm still quite happy with my results!  Thanks again a million times to Carl for hosting this great challenge.  Some of us don't need motivation to get through this type of book at this time of year but I was glad to see so many of you join in that aren't regular readers of perilous books.  I hope that it enhanced your season!

We posted 19 reviews of 24 books -- 13 fiction, 2 non-fiction and 9 picture books.  One of the fiction was a graphic novel, one was an audiobook and one was a short story collection.

We posted about 2 films even though we watched many more.  We decided to just post about the film/book pairs.

I got through 12 books from my TBR shelves which makes me VERY happy!  Some of them had been on my stacks for over a year.

Here is a round-up of our reviews.  I've put each of our favorites in bold but we would recommend almost all of these.  We had few complaints!

The Oxford Murders
The Picture of Dorian Gray (graphic novel and film)
The Gates
The Graveyard Book (audiobook)
The Wave (non-fiction)
Welcome to Monster Town, Bats to the Rescue! and Skeleton Hiccups
The Little Stranger
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (book and film)
Stories (short stories)
The Haunted Ghoul Bus, A Very Brave Witch and The Big Halloween Scare
What Alice Knew
The Time of the Ghost
The Prince of Mist
Haunted House
The Domino Men
Spook (non-fiction)
The Angel Maker
Skeleton Meets the Mummy and There Was an Old Lady That Swallowed a Bat
The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein

Until next year,
K and Z

  2. I'm pleased The Little Stranger was one of your favourites - it's one of mine from this year's reads, too, so far.

  4. Jenners - The sad thing is that I could probably keep up these sorts of numbers year round! ;)

Tracy - I'm now on my third Waters (Tipping the Velvet). I still think I like The Little Stranger the best so far.

Jenny - I only sign up for challenges that I will love. :)
