It's our two year blogiversary!
When we started this little blog, Z had just turned four. I had started reading blogs (mostly mommy ones) and then ... I found book blogs. It seemed like a dream come true. I was looking for a way to talk about something other than parenting and what better than books! I felt strange commenting on blogs without having one of my own and so We Be Reading was born. I've had a fantastic time with the blog so far. I can't guarantee how long we'll keep going but it will definitely be for as long as we're still having fun with it!
I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our accomplishment than to share some of our favorite books with you. I browsed through my favorite local used bookstores and found practically new copies of these awesome books. I've chosen all adult titles this time (with one YA title). There were so many books I could have picked but I was starting to go a bit overboard!
Here is the list of eight books that we are giving away with links to our reviews/mentions (or Powell's if we haven't read them recently). If you're interested in any of them, click through to our giveaway entry form! We are offering half of them as International giveaways and I have marked them accordingly. You are able to put your name in for as many as you want!
Crocodile on the Sandbank (Amelia Peabody 1) -- Elizabeth Peters
The Dante Club -- Matthew Pearl
The Eyre Affair -- Jasper Fforde (U.S./Canada only)
Good Omens -- Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
The Meaning of Night -- Michael Cox (U.S./Canada only)
The Shadow of the Wind -- Carlos Ruiz Zafon (U.S./Canada only)
Sorcery and Cecelia or The Enchanted Chocolate Pot -- Patricia C. Wrede and Caroline Stevermer
The Woman in White -- Wilkie Collins (U.S./Canada only)
Again, here is the giveaway entry form. I've decided to not embed it because they always have to be scrolled sideways and it's hard to read. Enter before end of day on Monday July 12.
Thank you for two awesome years!
K and Z
Happy Anniversary, Kristen! Hope you have many more as a book blogger.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist the giveaway - especially since you offered some as international ones (which is rare) but I put my name down for the Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett one - I've heard good things about Good Omens, but have yet to read it. Fingers crossed!
Congratulations, Kristen! Many happy returns of the day (I always like that expression - it's a shame we don't really use it).
ReplyDeleteCongrats and thank you for this awesome giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy blogaversary! I love your blog and I'm glad I found you. Hopefully you'll be around for a long time!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary to my almost blogging twin! I remember finding your blog early on in my own blogging career, and I had no idea you were as new to it as I was at the time :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy, Happy Blogiversary to one of my all-time favorite blogs!!! Even though I haven't commented lately, I am still here and will be as long as you are! I'm just behind in my blog reading these days!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on two years and here's to many, many more!! :)
Congratulations on two years!
ReplyDeleteHappy two years, Kristen, that's really amazing!
ReplyDeleteI won't enter into your contest but good luck to all who have!
Congratulations on your blogoversary. I love your blog and read it more often than I have time to comment (so many blogs, so little time!).
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely draw to be running. I won't enter as I am in a book glut but best of luck to those who have.
Thank you, Tracy! I always try to do international giveaways when I can.
ReplyDeleteJenny - I love that expression too. :)
Wordlily - Thank you!
Giada - Thank you and you're welcome.
Paige - I hope so too and I'm glad you found me too.
Teresa - I think we've come along nicely. I'm glad to have such great "colleagues"!
Tif - Thank you very much!
Al - Thank you!
Selena - Thank you. It's a lot of work but very rewarding -- especially when I find friends like you. ;)
Jux - Thank you! And I definitely know what you mean about having more blogs to read than time to comment.
Congrats.
ReplyDeleteReally liked "Shadow of the Wind."
