RIP VII Wrap-Up

Oh, I hate this day. It's the end of RIP VII! This was a really fun season of reading (as always). I read 15 books and watched a couple of flicks. Here are the highlights in award form --

Most Likely to Cause You to Reconsider Time Travel to Victorian Times
The Yard by Alex Grecian

Children's Book That I'm Not Ashamed to Read Year After Year
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

Best At Stretching the Imagination With Crazy Creatures
Charlotte Markham and the House of Darkling by Michael Boccacino

Best Use of Science and Footnotes in a Single Book
The Infernals by John Connolly

Most Likely to Keep You Up Late At Night (From Fright)
The Sandman, Volumes 1 & 2 by Neil Gaiman

Just Awesome
The Woman Who Died A Lot by Jasper Fforde

What was your favorite read this season?

Sadly looking forward to ten months of non-RIP reads,
K

    1. I know. I'm such a complainer ... especially since these are actually the types of books I read year round anyway. ;) I just like the fun of the event!

  2. I think you did great during R.I.P. I mostly failed this challenge because of school. :-( As long as the weather is nice and cold, you can still read scary stories. ;-)

    1. If this was an October/November event instead of September/October, I would hardly get anything read. This coming month is so busy I'm not sure how much reading I'll get done at all. And of my 14 books this year, 4 of them were during read-a-thon so I'm lucky the events overlap! But the nice thing is that there is no such thing as failing RIP. :)

  3. Another great RIP year for you!! Sadly, I only finished one of my reads, but it was a chunkster if that matters (The Passage). I'm hoping for a better year next year, especially considering that I will be in a different place and have much more time on my hands!!

    1. One chunkster definitely is a good thing! And I can't wait to see what your future holds. :)

  4. I love your awards--what a fun way to do a wrap-up! My best new read for this challenge was The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland by Catherynne M. Valente. SUCH an amazing book!
