#DWJMarch: Favorite Book Cover

Today I would love to see your favorite DWJ book cover. Post a picture on your blog or any social media site. Use the hashtag #dwjmarch and/or come back and leave a link here.

My favorite cover is this one, the UK Harper Collins version of Enchanted Glass. The colors and the panels each holding a character from the story and representing the magical stained glass window of the story just makes me happy. When I saw it compared to the US cover, I immediately placed an international order.

I hope you've picked up this book for the first read-along of the month -- the discussion is in ten days!

  1. You know, the DWJ covers of the 1970s and 1980s were awful, but the covers from today don't tend to be that much better. I'm just looking at some of them on the Book Depository website. Are her books uniquely difficult to illustrate? I like the covers on those matching mass market copies of Howl's Moving Castle and Castle in the Air (those are the copies I have of those books!), and the UK Enchanted Glass cover is pretty, but apart from that, really, I am not a fan of most of these covers AND I do not think they adequately represent the tone or contents of the books. Not in the US or the UK. And that is my grumble for the day. :p

    1. I think they must be difficult to illustrate, Jenny. Why else would the majority of the covers be so bad? I seriously had no trouble picking this one because it's one of the few I actually like!

    2. Wait, no, I'm crazy! I know what my favorite is! Conrad's Fate! I love the cover on Conrad's Fate! That is a legitimately really really good cover.

  4. I'm playing catch up here, can you tell? :)

I'm going to go with two Fire and Hemlock covers.

  6. I got into this via Jenny at Reading the End, so am catching up a bit. My covers come from several different publishers - I think the OUP Dalemark ones are quite good, if a bit minimalist, but my favourite is my 2000 paperback of 'Archer's Goon': to me it perfectly illustrates that first scene of the Goon in the kitchen

    1. Because you got the US version. It's okay but this one is so gorgeous that it then pales in comparison. Such a bummer!
