To launch DWJ March today, I would love to see your DWJ book collection (including any library books you're borrowing)! Post a picture on your blog or any social media site. Use the hashtag #dwjmarch and/or come back and leave a link here.
My collection is still growing because, well, I don't own every book yet. This is an older picture of my collection --
And here is my new one (which I just realized is missing Unexpected Magic because it's on my nightstand, but which will be out of date soon anyway because I have Islands on the way from the UK so just imagine two more books tucked in there) --
As you can see, it's very difficult to collect matching editions, especially here in the US where too many of the books are out of print. I had to order Deep Secret and Merlin Conspiracy from the UK last month so that I can finally read them. I like that my collection is varied though and I doubt I will ever replace any of these with different editions because they're the books that I've read and loved (although I do frequently consider buying the separate novel editions of the Chrestomanci books).
Now it's time to show us your Diana Wynne Jones books!

Nice! It's weird a bunch of mine match because with the exception of her essays... They are all second hand! That's why I don't have as many as I would like...
ReplyDeleteA couple of mine are secondhand but mostly they are whatever US edition happened to be in print. Since no one imprint seems to have all the rights, this is what I ended up with!
DeleteDid I know that you haven't read Deep Secret yet? Oh gosh, I hope you like it! It took me three tries to get into it, and now it's one of my most favorites and most frequently re-read.
ReplyDeleteHere are all my books! http://readingtheend.com/2014/03/01/dwj-march-all-my-books/
(I just realized I didn't put Reflections in there. Drat.)
I am absolutely loving Deep Secret from the start. I read about 60 pages yesterday and had to not open it before bed because I was worried about reading through the night! Today is going to be an awesome reading day though. :)
DeleteI quite like Deep Secret, but TBH I like Merlin Conspiracy more. I started re-reading The Spellcoats for the zillionth time over breakfast--it's been too long since I read that. :) Here's mine: http://howlingfrog.blogspot.com/2014/03/dwj-march-kickoff-my-collection.html
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read Merlin this month too. I'll let you know afterward which one I like more!
DeleteLovely collection! I need to pick up The Time of the Ghost for myself. I've never read it, and I don't think it's in any of the libraries around here.

It's a tough one to find. I got that one used (probably from Powell's).
DeleteSome of your books look much fatter than mine! Maybe it's the US vs UK sizing... Here are mine, on my bookshelf:

I noticed that the UK Deep Secret that I got seemed huge compared to copies I had seen before. It had less words per page, I think -- big margins and spacing. It does make it more impressive though. :)
DeleteFinally, here's my collection.

That's me all caught up. But you do realise, Kristen, that I've already bought two new DWJ ebooks this week, thanks to you. I need to join in the readalongs, after all.
LOL, Kerry. I'm not sorry at all. ;) Very glad that you're joining the readalongs!
