Folks, I hate to do this but I am going to suspend the Re-Read Challenge. There just isn't enough participation right now and we're already half-way through the time frame. I am going to re-run it in the spring or summer next year. I will give credit to those who have already signed up and re-read a book so your time wasn't wasted! Please comment here if you did a re-read in the past 6 weeks.
I really want this to be an annual challenge but I think that the end of the year is the wrong time to run it. Thanks for your understanding!
Still going to push the re-reads,
K
Aww! I had finished three Harry Potters and the Bell Jar! :(
ReplyDeletePlease bring it back next year, it was so much fun.
Bummer!!! I hadn't read anything yet, but had some books set aside for my travels and the upcoming read-a-thon! Oh well . . . I will still read them and add some other titles when it comes around again!!
ReplyDeleteBummer!
ReplyDeleteI had finished two rereads:
Revenge of the Gypsy Queen by Kris Neri
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
I had a few more planned, but hadn't gotten to them yet. And it's not like I will be taking them off my list. I had other reasons to want to reread them. :)
Lena - I will definitely start it again!
ReplyDeleteTif - There are ALWAYS more books to re-read. :)
Mark - So sorry! I will keep track and you will be two up when we start again.
What can I say? I just don't really re-read. I "revisit" a lot and post reviews of books I've already read, but I'm not big on re-reading.
ReplyDeleteBut I promise that if you host a challenge for something else, I'll join!
It's okay, J.T. :) I'll convince you by the spring to re-read ONE book.
ReplyDeleteI didn't find out about your re-read challenge until this morning, which is a shame since the challenge has been recalled. However, I like the challenge so much that I am going to take it and re-read at least one book by the end of the year. I agree with you that great/forgotten/loved books should be re-read, but I often forget to do that in the midst of trying to get through the piles of new books on my shelves that I still haven't read (while I'm out buying even more new books for my shelves). I already have a short list in my mind of which books I should use for the challenge, and I'm excited to see what I can get through by the end of the year. So thank you for suggesting the challenge!
ReplyDeleteJessie - Bummer! I think I am going to start it back up around March so that people can take favorites with them on spring break or read something off of their shelves during spring cleaning. I hope you come back and participate then too!
ReplyDeleteToo bad. I guess the end of the year is a bad time ... everyone is just trying to get those challenges that started earlier done!!!
